Beverly Hunter is Co-PI for the VISIT Teacher Enhancement Project. She works with teachers, scientists, and technologists to create new applications of advanced technologies to learning and teaching.As a systems engineer with IBM in 1965,Beverly specialized in educational applications in computers.Since then, she has developed with teachers a wide range of educational applications of technologies such as telecommunications networks, computational simulations, data bases, hypermedia, GIS, and various programming languages. As a champion of creative teachers, she has published such books as "My Students Use Computers" and "We Teach with Technology."As a director in funding agencies, she has funded thousands of creative teachers to develop innovations in learning and teaching, university faculty, and working scientists, to develop pedagogically meaningful scientific investigations using geospatial tools and data.
