In my undergraduate education at the University of Oregon I was required to take some social science courses, and I met the minimum requirements. At that time, my mind set was that such coursework was keeping me away from learn as much science and math as I wanted to be learning.

In retrospect, the social science coursework (and, the large amount of social science I have learned since then) has been a very valuable part of my lifetime of informal and formal study and learning.

Recently I thoroughly enjoyed reading C.P.Snow's very short book (1959 lecture). I had not read it before. If you have not read it, I suggest you do. See:
